Arguably one of the greatest graphic novels of all time, the Watchmen has recently been transferred onto the big screen. In my personal, and analytical, opinion I personally enjoyed the movie. Though having read the book, I was very disappointed in some of the pains that came with the transfer.
Some of the simple, yet major details were changed completely. (I will not state them because I don't wish to spoil the movie for anyone who has yet to see it.) However, major plot twist were altered, and an eventual outcome with one character was changed. Even though, I must say that the characters were very well represented. (SPOILER ALERT!!!) Rorschach's death was more emotional and dramatic in the movie than in the comic. Jackie Earle Haley did a PERFECT rendition. Movie go-ers were both in a sense repulsed by him, yet felt deeply sorry for him, and by the end fell in love with the very misunderstood hero.
Billy Crudup did an exceptional job as Dr. Manhattan, and Patrick Wilson did so as the second Night Owl. Mathew Goode's performance as Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias was amazing even though, without a doubt, Jackie Earle Haley's performance was undoubtedly the best and may even be Oscar worthy.
